WELCOME IN ANDALUSIA - LAND OF VARIETY AND SURPRISES!!!

A breathtaking nature, a culture with a rich tumultuous historical past and a mixture of art, architecture and savoir vivre.

Nature

Wonderful beaches along several Costas, on the Mediterranean Sea as well as on the Atlantic Ocean, and impressive mountain peaks from the Sierra Nevada invite you to enjoy nature and defy the adventurous sportsmen. Here are a few examples of the many available activities: trekking in natural parks (this region is the last stopping ground for the migrating birds before taking off to Africa) watching whales and dolphins, rafting, ski, surf and kite-surf in Tarifa, horse riding, mountain biking, flying safari, bicycle circuits (the Washington Irving route), and of course
golf.

Culture

You walk through history in the three royal cities: Grenada, Seville et Cordoba. The influence of the Arab conquest on a country that returned to Catholicism during the Reconquista is evident and makes of every spot in Andalusia a special place. 'White villages' like Ronda and Arcos, are typical of this region. You will also discover roman ruins and aqueducts. Pablo Picasso is one of the most famous sons of Andalusia. 'Don Quichotte' from Cervantes also wandered along the roads of this wonderful country.

Savoir vivre

Fiestas (parties), ferias (fairs) and flamenco…, offer a very special atmosphere, where you will feel the influence of the Spanish duende (a kind of deep emotion). Watch corridas, which seem rather barbaric, and admire a refined example of world renowned horse training at the Spanish Riding School. To eat and to drink the Spanish way invites to live in a perfect holiday ambiance: go to a small bar and taste the local 'tapas del día' with a glass of 'fino' (sherry from Jerez). Don’t forget to taste the gazpacho, a cold tomato soup, and the delicious but expensive jamón Serrano 'Pata Negra'.

The village Benalup-Casas Viejas (=old houses) is located in the middle of nowhere. Its localisation turns it into an excellent point of departure for the discovery of Andalusia. Tarifa is at a distance of 35 km and is a prime choice for the surfers. You will also visit the cities of Jerez de la Frontera, known for its bodegas, as well as Cadiz. The expansion of the highway net, the new connection Malaga/Seville and the huge improvement of the road conditions allow you to travel comfortably and fast.

After a day rich in culture, nature and/or adventure , it is very agreeable to return to your holiday residence in a private domain with your own private garden and swimming pool.
